What blocks the internal-tools team

Three reasons internal tools are the slowest projects to ship.

Internal tools should be 80% UI and 20% data wiring. In practice, it's the opposite, and the data wiring is where every project stalls.

01 - API permission soup

Every tool needs its own service account

Building one admin UI means provisioning Salesforce, NetSuite, Stripe, and Zendesk service accounts, scoping their permissions, rotating their tokens, and monitoring their rate limits, before you write the first React component.

ACCESS
02 - Stale state

Refreshing the panel takes 8 seconds

Every internal tool ends up with a 'refresh' button because data fetched at page load is stale by the time the user acts. Pulling fresh data per click means a noticeably slow tool.

DATA FRESHNESS
03 - Write-back fragility

The 'Update customer' button works 95% of the time

Internal tools that write to source systems hit the 5% failure cases (concurrent edits, validation errors, timeouts) without the retry logic of a real integration. Users learn to click twice and pray.

PLATFORM

Six products. One Platform.
Replace many legacy vendors.

Every tool Stacksync replaces is one fewer vendor, one fewer bill, one fewer integration to maintain.

Connectors

Every internal-tool back end, on the same data layer.

Stacksync exposes a unified read/write API across every connector, internal tools query Stacksync once, get live data, and write back with retry logic and conflict resolution built in.

Does Stacksync replace Retool?

No, it powers Retool. Retool is the UI builder; Stacksync is the data layer behind it. Retool components query Stacksync's unified API instead of N separate service accounts.

How do we expose data to a custom internal tool?

Stacksync exposes every synced object via REST and GraphQL. Your internal tool issues one query, gets a unified response. Writes go through the same API and Stacksync handles retries, conflict resolution, and back-pressure.

What about access control?

Stacksync integrates with your IdP (Okta, Auth0, Azure AD) for SSO and supports role-based access at the field level, finance can read GL entries; support can't. RBAC policies are versioned and audit-logged.

Can we build event-driven internal tools?

Yes. Stacksync emits webhooks and supports websocket subscriptions for any synced object. Build a real-time admin UI that updates as records change in the source system, no polling.
